“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” – James 4:8 (ESV)
Drawing Closer to God: A Journey of Worship and Revelation
Worship is a powerful tool that allows us to draw closer to God and experience Him in new and amazing ways. As we worship, He reveals Himself to us, lifting us to new levels of understanding and intimacy. However, this journey is not without its challenges.
As we grow closer to God, we may find that our circle of influence shrinks. Not everyone is willing to walk the same path of sacrifice and obedience that God has set for us. But as we draw closer to Him with an obedient heart, the areas of our lives that once seemed obscure and disorganized become clearer.
This journey requires a shift in our thinking. We must set our minds on eternal things and disconnect from carnal thinking, reasoning, and logic. The faith required for the next level of worship surpasses our human understanding and natural senses.
Our worship today will lead to new revelations. It starts with us, then extends to those connected to us, and ultimately to the vision that God wants to accomplish through us. We can take heart in the fact that God is closer to us now than ever before. We are seeing more because He can trust us with more.
Let us open our hearts to the Spirit of God and allow Him to speak to us in new ways. May we embrace the departure of old relationships, trusting God to bring new, right relationships as He continues to elevate us in our worship and walk with Him.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” – James 4:8 (ESV)
