Forgive quickly and thoroughly
We often want all of God’s superpowers EXCEPT forgiveness.
Take a moment to reflect on your worst mistakes. Think on the things that you believed made you unlovable. Now, remember the freedom that came when you embraced the fact that God has forgiven you. God forgave us quickly and thoroughly. Oftentimes, we come to realize he forgave us before we forgave ourselves.
Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
EPHESIANS 4:32
The ability to forgive is an essential part of our relationship with God and each other. Failure to do it in the manner that God commands will lead to long lasting effects as a result of a hindered prayer life. You cannot afford to have your prayers hindered in the season.
“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
Matthew 5:23, 24
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14, 15
“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Mark 11:25, 26
Pray this prayer: God I repent for adopting an idea of forgiveness that does not correspond with how you forgave me. God forgive me for not forgiving others quickly and thoroughly. I release everyone from the offense and I receive in exchange your holistic healing in order to move forward at an expedited pace.
