In the midst of troubling times, it can be all too easy to succumb to despair and hopelessness. When the present does not resemble the promise of a brighter future, it can feel like we are at the end of our rope, struggling to find a way forward. However, it is precisely in these moments of darkness that our faith and perseverance are truly tested.
The reality of our lives is that God is always faithful, even when we cannot see a way out of our current circumstances. He never forgets our commitment through the storm seasons, and He promises that there are flowers on the other side of this trial, without referencing death. We will all see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).
In times of difficulty, it is essential to take a moment and reflect on the miracles that God has already performed in our lives. Life is full of ups and downs, but remembering how it felt to be down when God came through for us can give us the strength and courage to face new storms. We must stay sober through the process, acknowledging our emotions but not allowing them to dictate our actions.
Sometimes, our greatest act of faith is simply taking another step forward, trusting that God will once again deliver us as He has done in the past. Just as God reminded Israel never to forget what He had done for them, we too must take a moment to remember an old miracle, to reflect on a past breakthrough. The same God that delivered us before will do it again.
So, in the midst of your troubles, cast your cares upon God. He has a way of blessing us to the point where we forget all of our troubles. Trust in His faithfulness, and He will see you through to the other side.
